We Need to Talk About Vulvas. Callaly carried out a survey and found that a quarter of people have negative feelings – including hatred, shame and disgust – towards their vulva. And that [trigger warning] 1 in 5 people aged 16-24 have considered cutting or bleaching their own vulva. We believed that if we spoke more openly about vulvas and the wide variety of what’s normal, these numbers would fall dramatically. 

I was so proud to be part of the team to create Callaly’s ‘We Need to Talk About Vulvas’ project. It’s never been more important to tackle social taboos and get rid of the myth of ‘the perfect vulva’.
